In this video Berkeley personal trainer, Jenn will take you on a grocery store tour and teach you a few tips before you go shopping this weekend.
Tip #1- when shopping for produce, always try to buy your fruits and vegetables that aren't bagged. When the food is bagged you will pay more money and chances are it's not as fresh.
Tip #2- when shopping for fruits and vegetables, try to buy the food in the back of the cart. What produce clerks do is rotate the food everyday so that the food that is about to go bad are in the front and the fresh fruits and vegetables are in the back.
Tip #3-when you see fruits and vegetables or any food for that matter on sale, beware because it's about to go spoiled. The grocery stores are just trying to get rid of them.
Tip#4-never have your fruits and vegetables alone. Always accompany them with some sort of protein to keep your blood sugars level and to keep your metabolism to increase.
Tip#5-watch your serving size when eating your meals, keep everything to a fist size or half a cup.
