Hercules Fitness Experts: Weight Loss Starts at the Supermarket East Bay

East Bay- The statistics are shocking. Two-thirds of the U.S. population is overweight or obese. And being fat isn't just about how sexy you look in skinny jeans anymore.
One-third of the population is responsible for 75 percent of the nation's staggering health care costs. Chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, respiratory ailments and diabetes can all be caused or exacerbated by poor lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits.
Everyone agrees these are big problems and many people try unsuccessfully to change their eating habits. Where do most people fail? To eat healthy, they must have healthy food available! And that, of course, starts in the grocery aisle.
"The foods you choose to stock your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer are the foundation for your diet," said fitness expert and co-owner of Aloha Health and Fitness Jenn Aguirre. "Most people fail to properly shop for foods that will enable them to plan ahead and eat healthy for the coming week."
"Grocery shopping can be overwhelming with so much confusing marketing, fad diets and trends," added Christian Aguirre, an experienced fitness professional and co-owner of Aloha Health and Fitness. "Most people find it impossible to successfully choose the healthiest foods from among all the options that line every aisle. A healthy diet is crucial to weight loss success."
To help East Bay residents effectively navigate the supermarket, co-owners of Aloha Health and Fitness Jenn and Christian Aguirre will lead East Bay residents on an educational tour through the grocery aisles of a local supermarket every Saturday at the end of the month. They'll provide expert tips to help people read food labels and choose healthy products.
